Case Study #1 - Legacy
Historians of Latino Americans of Tarrant County (HOLA)
RECOVERING THE HISTORY THAT WASN'T BEING TOLD

Context / Need: Latino history in Tarrant County existed across isolated family collections and memories without a unified platform for preservation.

My Role: Founding Member | Cultural Strategist | Storytelling & Creative Contributor.

Strategic Challenge: Transitioning personal memories into public history required structure, trust, and creative positioning.

Execution: Helped establish HOLA Tarrant County as a community-based archiving and research effort; contributed creative strategy, public messaging, and exhibition design.

Community Outcome: Built a permanent platform where oral histories and research move into shared public consciousness; established foundational community trust.
Case Study #2 - Journey
THE TRAIL OF THE MEXICAN AMERICAN EXPERIENCE
TURNING HISTORY INTO A PUBLIC EXPERIENCE

Context / Need: Essential Mexican American contributions (1900–1950) were absent from Fort Worth's dominant historical narrative.
My Role: Creator | Exhibition Strategist | Visual Communication Designer.
Strategic Challenge: Translating dense academic and library archive research into an accessible, traveling visual experience.
Execution: Conceived, designed, and executed a mobile 6-column, 12-panel public exhibition utilizing research from the Fort Worth Public Library Archives.
Community Outcome: Engineered a public-history platform that allowed residents to encounter history outside traditional institutional walls.
Case Study #3 - Impact
LATINO AMERICANS: 500 YEARS OF HISTORY
GIVING COMMUNITY HISTORY A PUBLIC VOICE

Context / Need: Historical preservation is incomplete when community members are excluded from telling their own stories.
My Role: Cultural Strategist | Creative Contributor | Visual Storyteller (Supporting Mujeres Poderosas / Strong Women in Fort Worth).
Strategic Challenge: Shift from 'telling history about people' to creating platforms where people tell and own their history.
Execution: Integrated oral history collection, visual communication, and public programming to document community matrices.
Community Outcome: Successfully documented 42 community participants, contributing permanent physical and digitized materials to the Fort Worth Public Library Archives.
Case Study #4 - Equity
FORT WORTH CIVIC LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
FROM CULTURAL ADVOCACY TO MUNICIPAL GOVERNANCE

Context / Need: Cultural institutions require leaders who can navigate municipal systems, public policy, and citywide funding channels.
My Role: Vice-Chair, Fort Worth Art Commission | Member & Past Chair, Human Relations Commission | City Task Force Member.
Strategic Challenge: Aligning grassroots community needs with municipal governance structures and public arts funding allocations.
Execution: Guided public art allocations, facilitated high-stakes community dialogues on equity and culture, and shaped civic policy recommendations.
Community Outcome: Elevated Latino representation in citywide arts decisions and built deep cross-sector relationships with municipal and civic leaders.
Case Study #5 - Identity
HISPANIC HERITAGE HISTORY PROJECT
TURNING COMMUNITY ENERGY INTO AN ENDURING PLATFORM

Context / Need: Heritage celebrations often end as single annual events rather than building long-term institutional infrastructure.
My Role: Co-Founder | Cultural Strategist | Community Connector.
Strategic Challenge: Transforming seasonal celebratory energy into an ongoing platform for preservation, education, and belonging.
Execution: Created a recurring framework connecting Hispanic Heritage Month with archives, public lectures, mobile artifact displays, and youth programming.
Community Outcome: Evolved a grassroots initiative into a recognized recurring platform for regional identity, intergenerational learning, and community pride.
